Polyurethane elastomer is not perfect, it also has shortcomings:

1. Large endogenous heat and general high temperature resistance. Polyurethane elastomer's normal use of the temperature range of -30 ℃ to 80 ℃, should not be used for a long time above 120 ℃.

2. Not resistant to strong polar solvents and strong acid and alkali media. At a certain temperature, alcohols, acids and ketones will cause polyurethane elastomers to dissolve and degrade. Dimethylformamide, trichloroethylene and other solvents will cause polyurethane elastomers to dissolve at room temperature.

The demand for polyurethane in the domestic market is increasing year by year, but some key raw materials are still mainly imported, which restricts the development of polyurethane industry. We should accelerate the localization of the production of key raw materials and produce raw materials with excellent performance and low price.

Alloying research of polyurethane elastomer materials has also become a hot topic in polymer materials research in recent years. Polyurethane elastomers can be compounded with a variety of synthetic resins such as pvc, pe, abs, etc. to reduce costs and improve performance. Polyurethane elastomers can also be modified by adding some organic fillers to highlight or strengthen certain aspects of performance, or improve some of the shortcomings of polyurethane elastomers to meet special needs.
